Many operations generate large quantities of scrap steel and
plastic banding which is difficult to dispose of safely and

steel banding to deal with whilst the food and beverage industry
produces PET banding primarily from de-palletising operations.
The 400 series are ideal for PET and
mild steel banding, keeping production areas clear of potentially
dangerous waste and converting it into a revenue generating
form.The 500 series are for high volume, medium duty operations
and are capable of converting up to 32mm steel banding.The
5000 series are designed for heavy duty, high volume scrap

CE450WM
The New Model 450WM has a 3 1/2" infeed opening.
The 450WM is still the same solid performer as the
original Model 450 but one is designed for wider materials
and easier feeding for plastic strap.
CE450WMT
Sweed
has introduced a new scrap chopper for plastic strapping.
The Sweed Model 450 WM Turbo Chopper. This chopper
is designed to take 4-8 plastic straps at a time and
quickly chop them into 2" cut-lengths. The speed
of this chopper is around 140 FPM, which works well
for plastic strapping. This chopper utilizes a dual
knife configuration and will make quick work of plastic
and PET strapping.
CE450XHD
The design
of the Model 450 XHD was duplicated from the standard
450, with a couple of added benefits. It features
a larger motor than the standard 450 and an additional
external flywheel, enabling the machine to feed more
straps in at one time.
CE510
For
more than 50 years, Sweeds Model 510 has been the
machine of choice for high-volume conversion of plastic
and metal banding, mild steel flat bar and slitter-line
trim. For easy maintenance, the Model 510 has been
designed with a hinged feedworks, making it an excellent
choice for in-line placement to process slitter trim.
CE513
The new Model 513 has been designed to be a reliable
performer for the reduction of tough wire, metal banding,
tubing extrusions, plastic strap and light-weight
cable. The Model 513 has a magnetic starter to protect
workers from an unexpected restart after loss of power.
The air-activated feedworks is controlled with a foot
switch for operator safety.
5703 Series
The Model 5703 series choppers are designed to meet
the toughest linear recycling challenges and are especially
suited for processing high volumes of ACSR and multi-strand
communications cable. Unique front opening feedworks,
taper-lock flywheel/shaft assemblies, and high-performance
bearings make the 5703 series choppers a remarkably
tough chopper that is easy to service and maintain
even when used in high-production environments.
